On Earth My Nina
On Earth My Nina is a story written by Domashita Romero and illustrated by serenity_winner. It ran in Issue 37 at http://s2b2.livejournal.com/217892.html, and is mirrored at http://www.shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/on-earth-my-nina/.
The title of this story comes from the They Might Be Giants song. From THEIR wiki:
This song was concocted when John Linnell listened to "Thunderbird" backwards and interpreted his reversed vocals into lyrics. The track itself is not "Thunderbird" reversed; instead it is Linnell, without accompaniment, singing the lyrics he heard.
The They Might Be Giants song "Thunderbird" was a tangential inspiration for the story.
Additional supplemental material for this story exists: Pen's twitter, Jonathan's twitter, and Jonathan's blog.
There is a brief sequel to this story available on AO3, titled King of the Coop.
