Please reply to this post if you plan to submit a story or artwork for this issue, indicating whether you are interested in contributing to the issue as an author and\/or artist, and whether or not you are looking for a collaborative partner. Artists offering to illustrate should provide links to past works as examples of style. Please leave alternative contact information, as comment notifications aren\u2019t always reliable.\u00a0 Contributors wishing to collaborate with others should respond through indicated channels. As always, you don\u2019t have to sign up to participate, and you\u2019re not creating an unbreakable contract by signing up, but\u00a0it\u2019s always a good idea<\/a>!<\/p>\n

This issue\u2019s theme is Quantum Entanglement<\/strong>: Our April issue is all about bringing things together, no matter how far apart they may be.<\/p>\n

SPECIAL NOTE<\/strong>: Obviously there are a number of ways to interpret this theme, especially along isekai lines, and we\u2019re happy to see all of them. However, for this issue, we\u2019d especially like to encourage submissions that are \u201centangled\u201d with other SSBB stories and art. One way to do this is to come back to older pieces: retelling a story from a different character\u2019s point of view, writing a story based on a standalone illustration, or creating a radically different version of a story or illustration that already exists in our archives. Another way is to team up with other creators for this issue on completely new pieces and either collaborate on a single submission or create two (or more!) submissions that work as counterparts to one another.<\/p>\n

As always, stories have to stand alone and should not necessitate someone\u2019s having read something else before \u2014 which should also mean that stories submitted together should be able to be read in any order\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0must be complete stories with a self-contained beginning, middle, and end.<\/p>\n

Note that this is not about continuing someone else\u2019s story without their permission, much less just plain rewriting it. While you are welcome to use someone else\u2019s work as a starting point, your finished product should be substantially different, yet still recognizably tied to the original. Works inspired by other SSBB pieces will have linked credit to their inspiration(s).<\/p>\n
