When Shousetsu Bang*Bang began publishing in 2005, we were on LiveJournal, which didn’t have image hosting capabilities of its own. Most illustrations and covers were sent to us through email, at which point they were uploaded to the founding editor’s personal account. However, many contributors chose to host their images either on personal servers or on free image-hosting sites, providing links to the images instead of submitting the actual files.

In late 2013, we began creating shousetusbangbang.com as a new and more permanent home for SSBB. For the first time, we had a place of our own to host our files, and we went about copying over everything we had available at the time. This site was originally intended only to mirror the LiveJournal contents; however, as time went by, circumstances changed such that we moved everything entirely to our own domain.

Unfortunately, during those eight years, many images hosted on external sites disappeared. We’ve been able to recover several, either through the original artists’ own records or the collections of others committed to preservation. If you’re seeing our “We know this image is missing” placeholder image, though, know that this means we have thus far been unable to locate the original file that came with the story.

If by some chance you have one of these missing images saved, please contact us at shousetsubangbang@gmail.com, because we’d love to complete our back catalog!
