What Jack Ketch Knows Knot
What Jack Ketch Knows Knot is a story written by Aosora Hikaru. It ran in Issue 50 at http://s2b2.livejournal.com/285595.html, and is mirrored at http://www.shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/what-jack-ketch-knows-knot/.
Brett Bainbridge is a second-shift telemarketer by day and a masked vigilante named Tracker wandering the streets of Clearwater City by night. This is complicated enough as it is before Jordan Faulkner, a freelance newspaper reporter/photographer, decides to make Tracker the subject of his next series of articles. Jordan, in turn, has a complicated existence of being a human punching bag for the very gangs Tracker is trying to eliminate.
The newspaper still taunted Brett when he got home from work, and he stared down at the byline again.
Jordan Faulkner. The photo was credited to them, as well. Where the fuck had they been hiding? There hadn't been anyone Brett could see last night, and he was usually careful about that sort of thing.
The sense of unease ate at him as he donned the leather again. Maybe he was just worrying about this too much; maybe nobody would really try to figure out who he was. Did people really worry about the secret identities of masked individuals, or was that curiosity just a comic book thing?
From fairyninjas.wordpress.com: "A curious little tale of a superhero and his loyal photographer. Mild BDSM."
What Jack Ketch Knows Knot is unrelated to other stories or universes.
What Jack Ketch Knows Knot will be listed on Goodreads and Archive of Our Own.
Is it always obvious when I scramble to pull out a story at the last second? Because it feels like it to me. Needless to say, this was yet another of those stories.
This story was actually originally written for the Masquerade issue in 2013, but I hit the sexytimes and stalled out because all of a sudden this story wanted to have bondage. So I panicked and shelved the story for, like, an entire year. Big thanks to Kimyō Tabibito for giving me the courage to continue to shove kinky stories in all your faces. Also big thanks to them for editing the crap out of my story, as well as my dear friend J, who betaed it way back when it was still slated for Masquerade (so a lot of early changes are thanks to her).
I actually spent a really long time trying to decide on Brett's superhero name, and still feel like I really only just settled for Tracker. Nothing else felt right.
For those of you who don't know, a hangman's knot is also known as Jack Ketch's knot. So this title is, once again, a terrible pun.
