It's Pretty Great, All Right
It's Pretty Great, All Right is a standalone illustration by Iron Eater. It ran in Issue 60 at http://s2b2.livejournal.com/333488.html, and is mirrored at http://www.shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/its-pretty-great-all-right/.
This piece was digitally created in Clip Studio Paint EX (AKA Manga Studio 5 EX), working from reference photos of China's Great Wall for the background.
This piece is part of a writing break I'm taking since I have so many **things** I'm catching up on lately, and I wanted to both keep submitting regularly to S2B2 without burning out! Backgrounds are not my strong point so I spent the vast majority of my working time on painting greenery, adding the two tourist boyfriends once I was satisfied that I had worked long enough on an unfamiliar skillset.
I briefly considered doing a Berlin Wall pastiche instead, as I was determined to have some sort of wall-based pun involved in my submission, but the answers I could think of were either too twee (even I have my limits) or made the historical stickler in me hyperventilate. Also there's tons of great photos of the Great Wall since it and the surrounding countryside are ridiculously photogenic, so there you go.
I don't know where the one on the left found his "Agent Scully from X-Files" windbreaker, but I can assure you he has a closet full of them. The one on the right has no idea why people keep assuming he wants craft beers or a PBR all the time. Hopefully one of them remembered a camera.
