A Far More Modest Proposal is a standalone illustration by Iron Eater. It ran in Issue 61 at http://s2b2.livejournal.com/335573.html, and is mirrored at http://www.shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/a-far-more-modest-proposal/.

This image was created entirely in Clip Studio Paint EX (AKA Manga Studio 5 EX), via a combination of flat coloring, color blending, and a Frenden simulated 2B brush for the linework.

Artist's Notes[edit]

This little picture probably works better if one is familiar with the Harvest Moon series of games, in which a blue feather is used in lieu of a ring to propose engagement, though a simple scene of two young farmers sharing a moment seemed suitable even if the context is lost on the viewer.

I was able to complete this from start to finish in about three hours! Fantastic! It's another part of an ongoing writing break of sorts and was scheduled specifically to be done without disrupting my plans for the upcoming 2016 Artist's Special. I'm pretty happy with how the framing turned out and got plenty of ideas for future experiments.

Save for a vague series theme, the characters aren't based on anyone in particular, though I did have to make sure I didn't repeat the same flannel pattern from It's Pretty Great, All Right.
